Ever since Blizzard announced its upcoming release of Starcraft 2, sequel to perhaps the most popular RTS (Real Time Strategy) game of all time, Starcraft, I’ve eagerly been awaiting its release like millions of fevered fans around the world. Starcraft, as any serious gamer would know, became the genre’s defining game; revolutionizing RTS gameplay and design with its use of three unique, distinct, but balanced races that allowed players to focus on different strategies to win games. Like most gamers of that time, I became one of the game’s fans and instantly developed into a hardcore gamer.
What is Starcraft 2?
Starcraft 2 is Blizzard’s newest RTS recently released last July 27, 2010. The game quickly became the fastest selling RTS game of all time, selling more than 1 million units worldwide in just its first day of release. It sold an additional half a million units the next 2 days. To date it, has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide and is projected to break the original’s record of 11 million units sold.
